青竹の水分を十分に抜いて油抜きをした後、天日の力でさらに青みを抜き、長期間の保管や鑑賞にかなう状態になった竹を「白竹」と呼びます。季節ごとの花々の変化と共に、徐々に色艶を増してゆく白竹の経年変化の過程もお楽しみいただけます。
Toru Hatsuta
Following the techniques and aesthetic sense of traditional bamboo basket making, he creates works that evoke the contemporary era, focusing on everyday tools, tea ceremony utensils, and bamboo crafts.
He has been selected for the Eastern Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition for two consecutive years, and his work "Sensujimoriki" is in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
