TAKESHI TSUJINO

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1964.
After graduating from a design college in Osaka, he traveled to the United States and studied glassblowing at various schools and studios, including the Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle.

After returning to Japan, he founded the studio "fresco" in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture in 2001. In 2022, he will open a new studio, "cavo," in Nanki Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture.

He is known both in Japan and overseas as an artist who creates glass works with an overwhelming worldview.

1964 Born in Osaka Prefecture
1986- Studied industrial design and glass craft at a vocational school, then moved to the United States. Learned more about glass production techniques at Pilchuck Glass School and Penland School of Crafts. Worked as a glassworks design and production assistant at Carlton Studio (California). Worked as a studio chief at Lawrence Glass (Florida), where he designed and produced products. Worked as a glassworks design and production instructor at Satake Glass Co., Ltd. (Osaka Prefecture), managing glassblowing classes and teaching.

1999 Lecturer at Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop (Ishikawa Prefecture)
2000 Lecturer at Pilchuck Grass School (Washington)
2001 Glass studio "fresco" established.
2002 Lecturer at Tama Art University Workshop (Tokyo)
2003 Lecturer at Musashino Art University Workshop (Tokyo)
2005 Lecturer at Kurashiki University of Science and Technology Workshop (Okayama Prefecture)
2008: Lecturer at Nagoya University of Arts Workshop (Aichi Prefecture). Since then, he has taught and lectured at various art universities and vocational schools around the country.
2005 Founded the fresco brand. Started developing craft products. Also invited product designers to the studio to plan and run workshops (until 2014).
In 2008, he became a founding member of the Sakai Craft Fair "Lights People's Gathering" and served as chairman of the executive committee until 2018.
2022 Fresco is incorporated as Fresco Co., Ltd.
2022 Established fresco branch studio "CAVO" in Wakayama Prefecture.
