Material: Smoky bamboo
Size: W0.5-1.1 x L18.2cm

A tea scoop made from sooted bamboo.

"Soot bamboo" is the bamboo used for thatched roofs of old houses, and while it is smoked by the hearth for 100 or 200 years, The color is natural. The parts that were directly exposed to smoke are darker in color, while the parts that were tied with rope remain unsmoked, developing their individuality.

Nowadays, high-quality sooted bamboo is becoming rare. Bamboo craftsman Toru Hatsuda carefully works with this limited material, carving each piece of carefully selected bamboo. The unique color and luster of sooted bamboo, the beautifully curved tip of the paddle, and the durability of the bamboo are all outstanding. The old scars are a highlight, making this a work that combines utility and beauty.
