MIKI ASAI Jewelry Exhibition

0020.10.20

MIN GALLERY is pleased to present the first solo exhibition by jewelry artist Miki Asai.

The works are created through delicate handwork using different materials such as paper, wood, eggshells, and mineral pigments, and although they are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, they quietly convey the passage of time and the feeling of memory.

This exhibition focuses on the motif of the "jar (container)" from within the theme of "still life painting," which Asai has continued to explore in recent years. Entrusted with the desire to freeze a moment and capture passing beauty, the jar is destroyed and reconstructed, sublimating it into a sculpture that embodies time while taking on the form of an ornament.

In 2024 , Miki Asai became the first contemporary jewelry recipient to receive the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, attracting attention both from within Japan and overseas. Please take this opportunity to see the origins of her expression and her ceaseless journey of exploration.
