I discovered bamboo crafts at the beginning of my twenties.
``Growing'' is a solo exhibition held by Toru Hatsuda, a bamboo craftsman who followed this path, in his last year in his 30s.

Looking at the history of “bamboo” and the charm of the material itself created from it,
Mr. Hatsuda's work combines traditional craft techniques with a modern aesthetic sense,
We are breathing new life into that "bamboo".

This exhibition focuses on flower baskets filled with single flowers.
Introducing the vigorous growth power of plants and the vitality of spring that shines in our daily lives through bamboo.
Please enjoy new works that you will want to spend time with day by day.

While imitating traditional bamboo basket making techniques and aesthetics, he creates works that give a sense of "modern" time, centering on everyday utensils, tea utensils, and bamboo crafts. He has been selected for the East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition for two consecutive years, and his work ``Sensuji Seiki'' is in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
